R.H. Peterson Materials and Manufacturing Process
- How they’re made:
- R. H Peterson gas log sets are crafted from a mixture of heat-resistant, fireproof ceramic material, which is then reinforced with heavy duty steel rods, and pre-fired in a rotary kiln to create an exceptionally durable high end product.
- What they’re made of:
- Real-Fyre gas logs are made of superior refractory ceramics, expanded shale’s and aggregates, and binded with advanced calcium aluminates.
- Why They’re so Real Looking:
- Every Real-Fyre log set is painstakingly detailed to capture the magical look and feel of a real wood fire. A unique molding system carefully reconstructs the texture and quality of real wood through intricately carved bark patterns, accented with unassuming details like knotholes, peeled bark, and forked branches. Real-Fyre then utilizes an exclusive immersion/filtration system to saturate the logs in a rich envelope of natural looking color. Finally, the log sets artists are hand painted, rigorously tested and certified according to the highest safety standards, and then sized and matched to create an exceptional log set.
Control System Options: Manual vs. Remote
Real-Fyre has expertly designed two convenient, reliable systems to control your gas log set. Choose between the simplicity of a Manual System or opt for the luxury and convenience of a Remote System.
The manual system is our most basic setup, and requires no electricity. It involves a simple on/off knob attached to the burner of the log set. A manual system has the ability of being upgraded at any time after the point of purchase.
The Millivolt System is designed to offer a convenient alternative to a manual control. With an electrical Millivolt System, you can control your gas logs using either a remote or wall switch. All Real-Fyre Millivolt Sytems are ANSI certified.
Manual System Features
- Simplest setup option
- Conveniently located, on off knob allows for easy control of system
- Flow of radiant heat assures knob never overheats, or melts
- Easy to light pilot
- Variable flame height (by varying fuel consumption using control knob)
- Variable fuel consumption
- Does not require electricity
Millivolt Systems
The Millivolt wall switch system easily turns on and off with the flick of a switch, and its convenient location means no more kneeling or bending, ideal for the elderly or people who are handicapped. It provides a constant flame and is simple to use.
A Real- Fyre remote system is expertly designed to offer you unsurpassed convenience and safety. The system consists of a hand held remote and a receiver that is cleverly hidden in a ceramic pinecone placed outside the hearth box. At Breakaway we equip most models with the pinecone (PC-105) battery operated remote lighting system. If you are interested in another system, please call our physical location and speak to a member of our Breakaway Sales team. The PC-105 Remote System consists of the pinecone receiver with a hand held transmitter. The ceramic pinecone attractively houses, and protects the receiver from heat. The gas valve pilot assembly ensures the fire lights instantly. The system requires two 9-volt alkaline batteries, one for the pinecone, one for the remote.
Vented vs. Vent Free
Vented Features:
- Require a working chimney
- Gases escape through chimney (like a standard wood fire)
- Gives off less heat then a vent free log set
- Can be installed in bathrooms and bedrooms
- *Unlined chimneys may require a liner when installing gas logs.
Vent Free Features:
- Does not require a working chimney.
- Gases do not need to be vented
- Have a 99.9% efficiency rating, providing efficient heat
- Equipped with an oxygen depletion sensor
- Cannot be installed in a bedroom or bathroom
Other Venting Options: If your chimney is not suitable for venting, and you are interested in a vented log set there are other venting options available.
